The Tatar Oil Research and Design Institute of JSC Tatneft named after V.D. Shashin

The Tatar Oil Research and Design Institute of JSC Tatneft named after V.D. Shashin was founded in 1956.

The institute mainly focuses on the upstream sector of oil industry, the technology of oil and gas field development and well construction, the recovery technology, oil preparation, anti-corrosive protection of oil-field equipment, oil-field design, industrial construction and civil engineering. From the very start Tatarstan’s oil industry development needs determined the institute’s research work.

The institute has significant scientific potential with 13 doctors and 63 candidates of sciences.

By the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) (№700, 01/12/2000) the dissertation council was created at the institute with the right to award the degree of Doctor of Sciences. By the order of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science (№70, nk 13/02/2013) the council D 222.018.01 continued its work awarding the degrees of Candidate of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences in the two fields of study: the technologies of well drilling and well development and the technologies of oil and gas field exploitation and development.
The technologies and the equipment development at the institute became widely used at JSC Tatneft and other Russian oil companies and a number of countries abroad. The institute’s specialists actively participate in world congresses and symposiums and exhibitions. The company built business relations with companies representing USA, Canada, Norway, Japan, Germany, Finland, France, China, Vietnam, the countries of the Middle East, Africa etc.
